About Me

Belinda Lopez working in her studio

There’s something about the possibility of a blank page. Whenever I choose a journal or sketchbook, it feels like choosing a companion — one that will hold my words, thoughts, dreams, and art. Together, we create something meaningful.

Paperlove Bookarts is grounded in the belief that expressing yourself through words and art is both creative and healing, and that this process deserves to be nurtured. In a world driven by mass production and disposability, I’m drawn to objects that feel thoughtful, personal, and made with intention.

I create handmade journals and sketchbooks because they inspire creativity in others — and that brings me joy. At Artisan Markets and Events, not everyone understands their value, but the ones who do… their eyes light up. Those are my people. My “Tribe.”

Alongside making books with patience and care, I love teaching my craft. Through my workshops, I offer a space to slow down, work with your hands, and experience the satisfaction of creating a beautiful book from scratch. Watching someone hold their finished piece — that moment of amazement — is one of my favourite parts of what I do.

I work from my home studio in Byron Bay, NSW, where I also enjoy beach walks, writing, community events, and volunteering at the Lighthouse.

Thank you for your interest in Paperlove Bookarts. If you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you.
